MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Detroit Hurricanes Youth Athletic & Enrichment
Program is to promote a healthier and more positive image for the City of
Detroit's Youth by fostering the principles of:
encourage athletic and scholastic endeavors. Our goal is to promote the
physical, mental, and moral development of children by providing
channels for the individual child to receive instruction in athletics and
academics.

| Hurricanes FREE Tutorial The Detroit Hurricanes staff and volunteers would like to thank you for your ongoing support during the 2010-2011 season. As you know, we require our participants to maintain a 2.0 GPA to be eligible to play post-season. Therefore, we are gearing up to offer our NCLB tutorial (free to all DPS students eligible for free-and/or reduced lunch).Registration is being held now.Classes will be held at the Matrix Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-6pm. Students will receive specialized tutoring based on individual pre-test scores. We offer a self-paced learning format with a student teacher ratio of 10:1. Students that attend the program for one-year may be eligible to receive a computer. Please inform us of your interest and enroll your child now. If you are interested in tutoring please let us know.
